Abstract: This study explores how early cognitive skills relate to language acquisition in preschoolers (ages 3–5) from [Your Region]. We assessed working memory, attention, and nonverbal reasoning alongside receptive vocabulary, syntactic comprehension, and expressive grammar in 80 typically developing children. Correlation and multiple regression analyses revealed that working memory and reasoning significantly predicted vocabulary and syntax performance—even after controlling for age and parental education—accounting for ~ 40–50 % of variance. Attention showed moderate associations but was not a unique predictor in multivariate models. Findings emphasize the role of cognitive capacities in early language development and suggest integrated cognitive-linguistic assessment in early childhood.
