Through the lenses of Vikṛti Vigyana and Rognidāna, Ayurveda provides a distinctive framework for compr
ehending the genesis (Ādhi), Samprāpti, Lakṣaṇa and Hetu of mental disorders.
This article examines how to incorporate traditional Yoga techniques, like Asana, Prāṇāyāma, Dhyāna and Yama-Niyama, into the Ayurvedic diagnostic framework in order to treat Manasika Roga, such as Unmāda (psychosis), Avasāda (depression), Anidra (insomnia) and Chittodvega (anxiety). Understanding the pathological processes through the interaction of Doṣha, Dhātu and Srotas, as well as the role of Rajas, Tamas and Satva in mental imbalance, makes Yoga a Samprāpti-Vighātaka tool that breaks the pathological chain on several levels.
An all-encompassing and sustainable approach to mental wellness that is consistent with the One Earth, One Health vision is provided by this work, which offers a comprehensive model of Yogic interventions based on Vikṛti stages and Dosha dominance.
