India, known for its long history of religious coexistence, has experienced cultural transformations through horizontal exchanges of religious thoughts. This paper examines the demographic shifts in tribal regions of Gujarat, particularly in Tapi district, where Christian missionary activities have influenced indigenous tribal traditions. The study introduces the "Five F" theory to explain the mechanisms driving cultural and religious subversion in tribal communities. By analysing historical patterns, demographic data, and cultural disruptions, this research highlights the extent of religious transformations occurring within these communities shows the illegal practice of “crypto-Christianity”. The findings emphasize the necessity of preserving traditional religious practices while addressing socio-economic vulnerabilities that facilitate cultural shifts. The study concludes with recommendations for policy measures that could protect indigenous cultural heritage in light of contemporary demographic challenges.
