Abstract: The integration of blockchain technology into the healthcare sector presents a transformative approach to managing medical data, improving transparency, and enhancing patient-centric services. This paper investigates how blockchain technology could tackle persistent issues in healthcare, such as data security, interoperability, and the ownership of patient information. By leveraging the decentralized, immutable, and transparent nature of blockchain, healthcare systems can achieve secure sharing of electronic health records (EHRs), streamline administrative processes, and facilitate real-time access to critical information for authorized stakeholders. We analyze current blockchain frameworks and case studies, examine implementation challenges such as scalability, regulatory compliance, and data privacy, and propose a hybrid model that combines on-chain and off-chain data storage to optimize performance. Our findings suggest that blockchain holds significant promise in revolutionizing healthcare delivery, provided that ethical, legal, and technical barriers are addressed through coordinated efforts among policymakers, technologists, and healthcare providers.
