India and its vast knowledge system have the potential to improve the quality of life drastically. The policy push towards incorporating India and Indian knowledge system into Indian education system should be taken forward to the individual and household level. The National Education Policies has the major role to play in this regard. The promotion of Indian arts and culture is seen very important and it could be effectively imparted through integrating Indian Education System into the main curriculum which would not only infuse Indian values in the education system but also develop strong sense of identity and enhance creative and cognitive skills among the youths. This paper highlights on understanding of Indian Knowledge System and its integration in the modern education system. Integrating IKS in the modern education system is a groundbreaking move in building a holistic education system which connected to India’s rich cultural root and still relevant at global stage.
