The Gulf region is a major supplier of oil and natural gas to the world. Conflicts in the region at times affect energy supplies, raising oil prices and impacting the global economy. This paper investigates the effect of rising energy prices on inflation, economic growth, trade and energy dependent countries like India. It also underlines the importance of energy security, renewable energy and sustainable policies to mitigate the impacts of future energy crises.
