This study article investigates the use of Jean Piaget's phases of cognitive development to understanding children's cognitive progress in the digital era. Piaget's theory, which distinguishes between stages of cognitive development from infancy to puberty, has long been a foundation of developmental psychology. However, with the fast expansion of technology, particularly in the field of digital media, there is a need to reconsider the impact of technological influences on cognitive development. This research investigates how digital resources such as educational applications, video games, and online learning platforms interact with Piaget's stages, altering children's cognitive capacities at each developmental stage. The study emphasizes both the benefits and drawbacks of digital technology, such as the potential for rapid learning and the hazards associated with excessive screen time. Furthermore, it tackles critiques of Piaget's theory in light of the current digital world, implying that, while the theory remains basic, new models are required to reflect the complexity of modern child development. The report also emphasizes the crucial responsibilities of parents and educators in promoting balanced technology use for cognitive maturation. This article, using case studies and current research, explains how Piaget's theory continues to shape our knowledge of child development in an increasingly digital environment and makes recommendations for future study in this expanding subject.
